The records produced by the Observatory before 1919 are held at the Trieste State Archives. Documents after 1919 are few and consist of administrative correspondences, visitors' registers, account registers, library inventories, astronomical observations logbooks made around 1920 and recently found documents relating to the astronomers' personal fonds.
However, the photographic archives consists of a substantial collection of about 400 plates, mainly of astronomical objects, taken from about1920. The plates, as well as part of the paper documents, are held at a remote location in Basovizza.
