The main function of the Library of the Astronomical Observatory of Trieste is to provide support to research and educational activities of internal staff and of external staff involved in the Observatory's activities.
Access to collections is also granted to external users.
Opening hours for external users are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 13:00. Access is free.

After consulting the books, users should leave them on the study tables or give them back to the library staff for shelving. New-arrival books are to be shelved by users.
The Library staff will assist users for general information about access to library services, resources and for queries or suggestions. Library staff provides assistance for consulting catalogues and for using e-resources and tools for finding documents online. Upon request, the Library staff will find bibliographical information by public access catalogues (OPAC) available online. For assistance or requests contact the library staff by e-mail at the following address: library.oats @ inaf.it.
Library materials can be borrowed by the following user catagories (see OAT Library Rules).
